Henry A. Fernandez Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, President and Director
Henry A. Fernandez has served as Chairman since October 2007 and has served as Chief Executive Officer, President and Director since 1998. Prior to joining MSCI, Mr. Fernandez worked for Morgan Stanley from 1983 to 1991 and since 1994, most recently as a Managing Director in the Institutional Equity Division. Mr. Fernandez holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Georgetown University and an M.B.A. from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
David C. Brierwood Chief Operating Officer
David C. Brierwood has served as Chief Operating Officer since 2006. Prior to joining MSCI, Mr. Brierwood worked for Morgan Stanley from 1986 to 2006, most recently as Chief Operating Officer of the Institutional and Retail Securities Groups. Mr. Brierwood holds a Bachelor of Science in material science from the Royal School of Mines, Imperial College at the University of London and an M.B.A. from the Manchester Business School in England.
David M. Obstler Chief Financial Officer
David M. Obstler has served as Chief Financial Officer since June 2010. Mr. Obstler joined MSCI in connection with its acquisition of RiskMetrics Group, Inc., where he had served as Chief Financial Officer since January 2005. From 2000 to 2004, he was Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Corporate Development for Pinnacor Inc., a NASDAQ publicly listed provider of software and services to the financial services industry. Mr. Obstler holds a Bachelor of Arts from Yale University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
C.D. Baer Pettit Head of Client Coverage and Marketing, and Head of the Index and ESG Business Unit
C.D. Baer Pettit has served as Head of Client Coverage since 2001, Head of Marketing since 2005 and Head of the Index and ESG Business Unit since September 2011. Prior to joining MSCI, Mr. Pettit worked for Bloomberg L.P. from 1992 to 1999, most recently as Deputy Head of European Sales. Mr. Pettit holds a Master of Arts in history from Cambridge University in England and a Master of Science from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University.
Gary Retelny President of ISS, Head of Strategy and Business Development, Chief Administrative Officer and Corporate Secretary
Gary Retelny was appointed President of Institutional Shareholder Services, Inc. (ISS) in September 2011. Mr. Retelny has also served as Head of Strategy and Business Development since 2003, and Chief Administrative Officer and Corporate Secretary since 2008. Mr. Retelny holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in civil engineering from Stanford University and an M.B.A. from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
